Frequently asked questions
I identify as a [insert gender identity], am I also welcome in this community?
Yes! All gender expressions are welcome. We strongly believe in equality.
What kind of books does the book club reads?
We read both fiction and nonfiction, classics and new releases. We try to alternate between fiction and non-fiction every month.
All the books we read have an intersectional feminist aspect, this can be super clear like the book ‘Hood Feminism’ by Mikki Kendall or more between the lines like the book ‘The Color Purple’ by Alice Walker.
Do I need to sign up for every book club discussion?
If you’re a member of the community, you do not have to sign up for the book club discussion, you can simply join the discussion in our community.
Do I need to read every book?
No, you can join us whenever you like! It’s totally up to you.
Is it ok if I read the book but don't participate in the discussion?
That’s totally fine.
Can I still participate in the discussion if I didn't manage to finish the book?
Sure, there will always be some topics that you can talk about without finishing the book.
Is it a problem if I don't know much about feminism?
No worries, that's no problem at all. It's a journey of learning and unlearning with eachother.
What does it cost?
Nothing! The only thing you need to buy is the book you don't have acces to a library/e-book or audible subscription.
I'm an author and I want to pitch my book for your book club, is that an option?
Unfortunately, no. This is community-driven book club, meaning our members suggest the titles they want to read. Besides that, the books that we choose need to be easily accessible for everyone.
But maybe we can organise something else! Please
get in touch and I'll happily discuss other options.
My question is still not answered, how can I contact you?
